Dental clinics in Kolkata face more online competition than almost any other kind of practice. In many neighbourhoods, a patient can see five or six clinics within a short walk. The good news is that most clinics still market themselves inconsistently, which leaves room for a practice that does the basics well and keeps doing them.
1. Fix your Google Business Profile first
For most dental clinics, the Google Maps listing brings more new patients than any other channel. Choose Dentist or Dental clinic as the primary category, add every service you offer, upload real photos of the clinic and team, keep hours accurate including holidays, and post updates regularly. Our Google Business Profile guide covers this step by step.
2. Build a steady flow of genuine reviews
Patients compare ratings and review counts before calling. Ask every patient at the end of a successful visit, make it easy with a short link or QR code and reply to every review. Never offer discounts for reviews and never write fake ones.
3. Give each main treatment its own page
A single services page listing everything you do is not enough. Create separate pages for implants, clear aligners, root canal treatment, braces, crowns and bridges, whitening and kids dentistry. Each page should explain the treatment, who it suits, the number of visits, aftercare and the factors that affect cost. These pages rank for treatment searches and reassure nervous patients.
4. Make the website fast and easy to act on
Most patients visit on a phone. Your site should load quickly, show the phone number and WhatsApp button clearly and offer a short booking form. Read our guide to clinic website conversion for a full checklist.
5. Use Google Ads for specific treatments
Once tracking is in place, Google Ads can fill appointment slots quickly. Focus on treatments with clear intent and good value, such as implants, aligners and emergency dentistry, and limit targeting to the areas your patients come from. Our guide to Google Ads for dentists explains how to avoid common budget leaks.
6. Educate on social media
Short videos explaining procedures, myths and oral care, presented by your dentists in English or Bengali, build familiarity and trust. They rarely bring instant bookings, but they make patients more comfortable choosing you.
7. Handle every enquiry well
Marketing only works if enquiries become appointments. Answer calls promptly, reply to WhatsApp messages quickly during working hours, train your front desk to explain treatments and fees politely and record where each new patient came from.
8. Measure and adjust monthly
Track calls, WhatsApp chats, forms, direction requests and booked appointments by source. Every month, move effort towards what brings patients and away from what does not.
Remember the rules. Dentists in India are bound by the Dental Council of India code of ethics. Keep marketing educational and factual, avoid guaranteed results and use patient images only with written consent.
